Richard MacGilchrist
CEO / Creative Director
One of Metaphor's founders, Richard has been creating brands of over two decades.
Initially a junior graphic designer, he then studied a degree in Photography before spending a few years in recruitment. In 1993 he returned to the creative industry heading new business for Ziggurat Brand design. After 4 successful years Richard moved to Siebert Head and then to Design Motive as head of new business and brand strategy. Richard then ran digital media for one of the world's largest branding companies.
Richard has worked on countless famous brands for companies including Unilever, Allied Bakeries, Diageo, McVitie's, Coca-cola, Pepico, HSBC, Seagram’s, Nestlé, Kraft, Capital Radio, Budget-rent-Car, Perot Systems, InterContinental and Lastminute.com to name a few.
As the Creative Director Richard runs all creative work in the agency, including brand strategy, concept design and design / brand development.
Richard also holds a number of degrees and professional qualifications, though the only one he like mentioning is his Masters Degree in Design from Central Saint Martins.
